Lady Hawk - A beautiful 3 year old sub adult flies in to the attic this morning! He/she looks around for a couple minutes before dropping down to the nest and inspects the nesting material. You can see the 3rd year plumage stages with the SA developing more white on its tail and head leaving a darker eye stripe on the sides. It's beak is beginning to turn yellow and its eyes are becoming lighter. What a beauty this SA is! Are you one of Harriet & M's offspring? Here is an excellent article with photos showing the age progression of the bald eagle: https://www.featheredphotography.com/blog/2013/01/27/a-guide-to-aging-bald-eagles/ The SA takes off as it sees M15 flying in to the upper branches vocalizing. Harriet is right behind him with her warning vocals as she perches next to him. They make a great team! Some beautiful closeups of Harriet and M from cam 2 as Harriet approaches M and "thinks" about presenting her foot but doesn't lol Thank you for watching! Video captured & edited by Lady Hawk Thank you SWFEC , hosted by Dick Pritchett Real Estate, for allowing us the opportunity to view these amazing eagles.
